***This week, rather than focusing on food – I’m focusing on Homemade Helpers for Around the House! Along with cooking and eating, comes laundry and cleanup! This week, I’m sharing great homemade cleaner recipes that not only do a great job, but save money, too!!!***
I have always been a fun of scrubbing cleaners. I have not ever been a fan of the bleach smell that comes along with them… I found this homemade version and love not only the way it smells, but also the way it cleans!
2 cups baking soda
1/2 cup liquid castile soap
4 tsp. vegetable glycerin
5 drops antibacterial essential oil (optional)*
Mix all ingredients in lidded container. I added about 1/4 cup extra castile soap because I like mine really creamy.
*If you use an antibacterial essential oil – like tea tree, lavendar, oregano, thyme, geranium or lemon – then you’ll have the added benefits of the antibacterial properties. Use sparingly so you don’t overpower your nose, and feel free to experiment with blends to find a scent that is pleasant and still powerful.
