So the last week has been stressful. Georgie, my almost 3 year old, came home vomiting after Vacation Bible School. We thought maybe she got overheated or reacted to the red punch (she is very sensitive, and I’ve been wondering if she has an issue with red dye anyway). After about 24 hours, she started eating more and doing better. And then over the weekend, she was SICK. AS. A. DOG – from the other end… We are probably going to try to visit the doctor – although today she’s eating and drinking her Pedialyte without any problem, so I’m not sure. She has MUCH more energy and brighter eyes. Isn’t it awful – that sad, hollow-eyed look kids get when they are sick??? I’m also heading into Major Papers and Finals with my online classes, so I’m a tad preoccupied!
But I went ahead and got on the scale this morning, not sure what I would find, and was SHOCKED at my report:
254 lbs!
I’m good with that! I lost 2 lbs from last week, and 1 from my original weigh in.
I have to attribute it to eating smaller portions at meals and fewer snacks. My physical therapy is pretty passive – so I can’t attribute it to more exercise… lol I did drink more water and less pop – normally weekends are really bad for me, but I tried to be conscious about what I was drinking. We were busier last week with our schedule and that must have helped, too! One of my main goals with the physical therapy for my ankle is to be able to walk more – Roy & I want to walk more together for our health, and I want to be able to do that without coming home and having to deal with a really swollen ankle – so that is one of my goals!
My focus for the next week is going to be MORE WATER. I always have one week every month where I swell up like a summertime watermelon, and between the pressure of papers & finals, and my own body’s normal functions – I am going to try to really guzzle the water this week and see if I can’t stave off some bloat…

Good for you!! I’ve been back on Weight Watchers for awhile and have lost 13 pounds. It’s coming of sllllllooooowwwwwly but I don’t care.
I teach science/math classes at our homeschool co-op. I always ask the parents if their kids are allergic to any food coloring/dyes. I’m surprised at how many people don’t know this is an allergy. Hope you find out if your little one is allergic or not
Hey, you remember that my little one had Salmonella a few weeks ago…I know things are going around, but I would have her checked for that and E.coli. I know it sounds dramatic, but those are the symptoms mine had — esp. from the “other end.” She had ups and downs, too. My understanding is that fresh fruits and veggies can especially carry these things, and if you’re anything like me, I stock up on those during the summer. Still not sure where my “baby” got it from. Just don’t let them rule anything out until they’ve tested for it. Just a thought. I’ll probably never take “the other end” things so lightly again.
Thanks, Kel, for the suggestion. I’d forgotten about that – UGH!!!
Kudos to you!
Thanks for sharing this! I have always been on the chubby side, and here lately things have been getting out of control. I will check out the challenge you mentioned!
