The Queen Mommy - Living A Latte Life

Feasting on the Bread of Life

For two weeks, my agenda has been completely overtaken by, well, everything! We’ve had necessary errands and doctor appointments, unexpected events and circumstances, and a LOT of time away from the house. This week, Roy has taken some (desperately-needed) time off. And amidst all of it – I’ve taken little time to be faithful in my Bible study.

And boy, have I felt it.

I’m learning (duh!) the hard way that it really is necessary to feast on the Word of God DAILY.

You can’t go without eating for a day without feeling it – and certainly not for two weeks without suffering from it.

You can’t go without drinking water for a day without your body reacting to it – and you would die without water for two weeks!

So why in the world, would I possibly think that I could manage to stay on top of my busy life, my growing-up family, my blossoming writing opportunities, my almost insurmountable Mt. Washmore – WITHOUT stopping and getting my daily BREAD OF LIFE?

Argh!?!

So, today, I spent time in the Word and WOW was it refreshing and lovely and exciting.

It didn’t stop the multiple spills of grape kool-aid.
It didn’t prevent the pile of leaves from being smuggled up to a bedroom and thrown all over the floor.
It didn’t get my laundry washed, dried, folded and put away or hung up in the closets all by itself.
And it didn’t put me into Perfect Mom mode.

But oh my goodness, do I need Him. Oh my goodness, does my spirit need to soak and revel in the Words that breathe eternal life and grace and peace into my life, regardless of my circumstances.

I plan to spend more time FEASTING on the Word and catching up in my multiple Bible studies. Not to check mark a list or live up to anyone else’s expectations – but because I cannot possibly get enough of Jesus in my life…
